Inforno is an open-source tool for removing the barrier between the human and Large Language Chat Models (Chat LLMs).

border

Inforno is a cross-platform desktop application for chatting with multiple agents at once, side-by-side, and storing chat history locally in special sandbox files (.rno). Unlike web browsers, Inforno gives you raw access to your data, privacy and snappiness of a local application written in Rust, using gaming-grade GUI library - Egui.

Features

Cross-Platform Availability
Inforno is designed for versatility, running smoothly on Linux and Windows. The source code should also be compatible with macOS (currently untested).

Localization & Typography
Out of the box, the application supports English and Russian. Thank to the integration of the complete Google Noto font family, Inforno can accurately display almost all languages, living and historical, ensuring a seamless reading experience regardless of the model's output language.

Inforno does not run LLMs directly, but rather uses third-party tools: Ollama and OpenRouter.

Ollama allows running open-source models locally on your computer, while OpenRouter reroutes prompts to cloud-based solutions (Google Gemini, Anthropic Opus etc.).

The diagram below illustrates this concept of two worlds: the white represents the local environment, the blue represents the internet/cloud. It is up to you which way to go: Inforno supports either or both.

Note on Costs: Running models in the cloud is handled by OpenRouter. While some models are free, most are paid on a per-token basis. There are no monthly fees and no subscriptions.

To use OpenRouter, create an API Key at openrouter.ai. You can set limits on usage and expiration. Once created, enter the key into Inforno to access cloud models instantly.
